At the Good Web we create most of our websites using WordPress. WordPress is a powerful content management system (CMS). A CMS provides a simple way of keeping the design of a website separate from the content, so that it can be easily updated without touching the code.

WordPress has been around for a long time and shows no sign of going anywhere soon. It’s updated very regularly and is the most popular CMS in the world. In fact, WordPress is used to create a massive 41% of the internet – Here are a few of the reasons that we love it:

Good for a growing business

For a small business website or start-up, a large CMS like WordPress may seem overkill. You may not want the hassle of learning about how it works. After all, you want to focus on setting your business up and may not want something else to think about.

However, where your website is concerned, it’s important to consider the future of your business because when it grows it will need something that can adapt quickly, no matter what.

In fact; WordPress might end up being the very thing that helps your business to grow.

Change is inevitable as your business grows

A small, simple website today might need to be an online shop tomorrow. Not only can WordPress support that transition it can do it quickly and provide you with options.

With WordPress, there are so many third party options to add that you are free to choose one that suits your business model rather than one that comes bundled with Wix or Squarespace.

However your business grows, the ubiquity of WordPress means that third party businesses are likely to already have an integration ready to go. What if they don’t? WordPress allows you to code it directly.

Putting you in complete control

When websites are developed without a CMS, you’ll need to pay for every update that your web agency makes. Worse still, if your developer goes out of business you may find that you can’t access your website at all.

With a CMS you have the option to get into your site and make adjustments yourself whenever you want for free.

With WordPress as your CMS, not only are you able to make your own changes, but you can easily find someone with the skills to make them for you.

Why we love WordPress

When we create a website for your business we use WordPress to give you maximum control and flexibility.

If your primary concern is learning how to use it, you needn’t worry. We make each client a custom dashboard that can be extremely simple to use and always include training for you and your team.

When we create websites, we do so with your businesses needs at the front of our minds. WordPress helps us to provide a huge amount of flexibility while keeping development affordable and simple for clients.

We love WordPress and think that you will too. If you are still unsure, just drop us a line and we’ll help work out if it’s really right for you.
